Abstract:
The present invention provides: positive electrode active material particles for secondary batteries, of which the fluctuation in volume resistivity depending on the sizes of the particle diameters thereof is reduced, and which can form a particle size distribution width having a specific spread and therefore have excellent electrical conductivity as a whole; and a method for producing the positive electrode active material particles for secondary batteries. Positive electrode active material particles each comprising a metal and/or a metal compound and a nickel-containing composite compound, wherein the value X represented by formula (I): X = (C-A)/B (I) (wherein A, B and C represent the molar ratio of the amount of the metal in the metal and/or the metal compound to the amount of the metal in the nickel-containing composite compound in particles each having a secondary particle diameter (D90) corresponding to a cumulative volume percentage of 90% by volume, that in particles each having a secondary particle diameter (D50) corresponding a cumulative volume percentage of 50% by volume, and that in particles each having a secondary particle diameter (D10) corresponding to a cumulative volume percentage of 10% by volume, respectively, in the positive electrode active material particles for secondary batteries) is 0.00 to 0.08 inclusive.
