Abstract:
Provided is a positive electrode active substance for a lithium ion cell having good cell properties. The positive electrode active substance for a lithium ion cell is represented by the formula LixNi1-yMyO2+α (where M is one or more selected from the group consisting of Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, Bi, Sn, Mg, Ca, B and Zr; 0.9 ≦ x ≦ 1.2; 0 < y ≦ 0.7; and α > 0.1); the primary particle grain size is between 1.6 and 2.3 µm, the amount of alkali at the particle surface as determined by two-step neutral point titration is 1.2 mass% or less; and when, of the amount of alkali at the particle surface, the amount of lithium hydroxide is A mass% and the amount of lithium carbonate is B mass%, A/B is 1 or less.
