Title:
POSITIVE-ELECTRODE CATALYST FOR AIR SECONDARY BATTERY, AND AIR SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/169548
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a positive-electrode catalyst for air secondary batteries which is highly active in both oxygen reduction and water oxidation and an air secondary battery which includes the catalyst. This positive-electrode catalyst for air secondary batteries is obtained using a mononuclear metal complex which comprises one center metal and a ligand that has coordinated to the center metal, wherein the ligand is an organic compound that has, in the molecule, one or more structures which each have a space surrounded by four or more atoms capable of coordinating to the center metal, the four or more atoms comprising (i) two or more nitrogen atoms and two or more atoms selected from the group consisting of sulfur and oxygen atoms or (ii) four or more nitrogen atoms, at least one of these nitrogen atoms being a nitrogen atom included in a nitrogenous 6-membered heterocycle, and in which the center metal can be held in the space. When the organic compound has two or more such structures, the structures may be the same or different.
