Abstract:
The present invention provides: a positive electrode composite active material which comprises a cover layer that is uniform in comparison to conventional ones, and which is capable of suppressing the generation of a gas due to decomposition of a nonaqueous electrolyte solution; and a method for producing a positive electrode composite active material. A positive electrode composite active material according to the present invention comprises an oxide active material and a cover layer which covers the surface of the oxide active material; the oxide active material is configured from a lithium manganese oxide having a spinel crystal structure; the cover layer is configured from a phosphate compound that is represented by formula (1); and the cover layer has a thickness of 5 nm to 20 nm. (1): LiaAbDcPO4 (In formula (1), a, b and c satisfy 0.9 < a < 1.1, 0 < b ≤ 1 and 0 ≤ c < 1, and 0.9 < b + c < 1.1; A represents at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of Co, Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu and Cr; and D represents at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zn, B, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge, Sc and Y.)
