Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lithium-sulfur battery, and more specifically, to a positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery. A lithium-sulfur battery according to the present invention has a zirconia (ZrO2)-containing acid catalyst, for example, a WO3/ZrO2 acid catalyst, included in a positive electrode, wherein the acid catalyst performs a catalytic role in the formation of lithium polysulfide due to the activation of a sulfur-containing material, and also has an excellent ability to adsorb lithium polysulfide generated during the operation of the battery, and thus suppresses the elution of lithium polysulfide into an electrolyte. Therefore, the lithium-sulfur battery can exhibit excellent electrochemical properties such as lifespan characteristics.
