Title:
POSITIVE ELECTRODE FOR NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY AND NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/061298
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This positive electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode collector, and a positive electrode mixed material layer disposed on the positive electrode collector and containing a positive electrode active substance. The void ratio of the positive electrode mixed material layer is 30% or less, and the void ratio of the secondary particles in the positive electrode active substance is in a range of 30% to 70% inclusive of the void ratio of the positive electrode mixed material layer. The void ratio of the positive electrode mixed material layer is a two-dimensional value determined from the proportion of the surface area of the voids (voids between secondary particles and voids within each of the secondary particles) in the positive electrode mixed material layer relative to the cross sectional area of the positive electrode mixed material layer. In addition, the void ratio of the secondary particles in the positive electrode active substance is a two-dimensional value determined from the proportion of the surface area of the voids within a secondary particle relative to the cross sectional area of the secondary particle in the positive electrode active substance in the cross section of the positive electrode mixed material layer.
