Abstract:
Provided is a positively chargeable black toner which is suppressed in fogging and is capable of developing a vivid black print even if the amount of toner on a paper surface is small. A positively chargeable black toner which contains a binder resin, carbon black and colored resin particles that contain a quaternary ammonium base-containing copolymer serving as a charge control resin, and which is characterized in that: the quaternary ammonium base-containing copolymer is a styrene acrylic polymer containing a quaternary ammonium base-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit; the copolymerization ratio of the quaternary ammonium base-containing (meth)acrylate monomer in the quaternary ammonium base-containing copolymer is within the range of 0.1-2.5% by mass; the carbon black content is within the range of 10-15 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the binder resin; and the blow-off charge amount of the colored resin particles as measured by a specific electrostatic charge measuring method is within the range of 5-60 μC/g.
