Abstract:
A positron emission tomography (PET) system and an image reconstruction method therefor. The PET system comprises: a plurality of detector units (25) arranged along an axial direction, each detector unit (25) being adapted to generate a plurality of single event counts; and a plurality of coincidence logic circuits (62), each coincidence logic circuit (62) being connected to one or more corresponding detector units (25). Single event data generated by the detector units (25) is sent to corresponding coincidence logic circuits (62). The plurality of coincidence logic circuits (62) concurrently generates coincidence counts of the plurality of detector units (25).
