Abstract:
Proposed is a method for solving various problems that occur due to water when handling water-containing powder. This powder property-modifying method comprises, when handling a water-containing bulk material such as ore, coal, or limestone: adding an active ingredient of a chemical agent containing, as the main component, at least one selected from polymer flocculants, inorganic flocculants, and polymer water absorption materials in a range of 0.001-0.07 mass% with respect to the mass of the bulk material; and retaining water in the bulk material in a crosslinked structure formed between the chemical agent and powder forming the bulk material. This production method is for a water-containing bulk material that is to be transported through at least one selected from ships, transport vehicles, loading heavy equipment, unloading heavy equipment, belt conveyors, and storage tanks, the method comprising modifying the water-containing bulk material using the modifying method.
