Abstract:
The present invention improves the linearity of an input power-output power characteristic of an amplification circuit. A power amplification circuit (1) is provided with an amplification circuit (2), a bias circuit (3), a detection unit (4), and a control circuit (5). The amplification circuit (2) includes a first bipolar transistor (Tr2). An emitter follower (30) of the bias circuit (3) includes a second bipolar transistor (Tr3). The emitter follower (30) supplies a bias current to a base of the first bipolar transistor (Tr2). The detection unit (4) detects a voltage (Vcc) at a power supply terminal (11) connected to a collector of the first bipolar transistor (Tr2). The control circuit (5) includes a current limiting circuit (54) provided between a battery terminal (12) and a collector of the second bipolar transistor (Tr3). The control circuit (5), in accordance with the voltage detected by the detection unit (4), modifies an upper limit value of a control current (Ice) supplied to the collector of the second bipolar transistor (Tr3).
