Disclosed is a power amplifier capable of amplifying a wideband signal with high power efficiency. The power amplifier has a polar modulator for receiving a modulated signal that includes an amplitude modulated component and a phase modulated component, outputting the amplitude modulated component, superimposing the modulated signal onto the carrier and outputting the result as an RF modulated signal, and delaying either the amplitude modulated component and/or the RF modulated signal; a first amplitude modulator for receiving the amplitude modulated component, pulse-modulating the amplitude modulated component and outputting the result as a pulse modulated signal, amplifying the amplitude modulated component with the amplitude modulated component and the pulse modulated signal as control signals, and outputting the result; a second amplitude modulator for receiving the amplitude modulated component and the pulse modulated signal, amplifying the amplitude modulated component with the amplitude modulated component and the pulse modulated signal as control signals, and outputting the result; and an RF amplifier for receiving the RF modulated signal, amplifying the RF modulated signal, and then amplitude-modulating the result by the output signal of the second amplitude modulator and outputting the result.
