Abstract:
A power amplifier according to this disclosure includes: a main transistor that amplifies an input signal input from a gate terminal, outputs the amplified input signal from a drain terminal, and has a drain current delay characteristic in which when the input signal changes from an ON state to an OFF state, a drain current decreases below a reference value, which is observed before the input signal becomes the ON state, and then returns to the reference value; a replica transistor that has the same drain current delay characteristic as the main transistor and is configured such that the temperature of the replica transistor changes along with the temperature of the main transistor and an envelope signal of the input signal is input to a gate terminal; an extraction circuit that extracts a delay component caused by the drain current delay from an output voltage of the replica transistor; and an adder that adds the delay component to a gate bias voltage applied to the main transistor to cancel the drain current delay of the main transistor.
