Abstract:

A power-assisted vehicle (1) towed by a towing vehicle (2) comprises: a vehicle body (4); a drive wheel (6) provided to the vehicle body; a motor (10) that drives the drive wheel; a control device (12) that controls the motor; a coupling mechanism (16) that has a first link (20) having a connecting part (28) for connecting to the towing vehicle, and a second link (22) that links the vehicle body and the connecting part while allowing relative movement in a forward-backward direction between the vehicle body and the connecting part; and a displacement detection unit (46) that detects displacement in the forward-backward direction between the vehicle body and the connecting part, the control device being provided with a processing unit (54) that controls the motor on the basis of a detection result from the displacement detection unit.
