Abstract:
This power consumption device is made to consume power until a current flowing through a power consumption element (for example, a resistance element) reaches a prescribed upper limit. A monitor voltage conversion unit 20 converts a voltage of a high potential line LH to a monitor voltage VM. The monitor voltage VM changes according to the voltage of the high potential line LH. When the voltage of the high potential line LH is, for example, 410V or higher, a control unit 100A generates a PWM signal VP1 that is a pulse wave. The PWM signal VP1 has a duty ratio that increases in accordance with an increase in the monitor voltage VM and decreases in accordance with a decrease in the monitor voltage VM. The conduction and non-conduction of a switching element 31 is controlled by the PWM signal VP1. When the switching element 31 is conducting, a power consumption element 41 consumes power due to a current flowing from the high potential line LH. A current adjustment unit 22 causes the monitor voltage VM to decrease only by a voltage corresponding to the quantity of the current flowing through the power consumption element 41.
