Abstract:
A technique disclosed in the present specification relates to a power control device and a power control method capable of effectively suppressing the degradation of the characteristics of a storage battery by reducing the time during which the amount of power stored in the storage battery is large. The power control device relating to the present technique is provided with: an electricity storage unit (3, 100) charged by power from external supply sources (1, 4) and discharging power to a connected load (6); and a control unit (5, 101) for setting an electricity storage upper limit value in accordance with the amount of power discharged from the electricity storage unit (3, 100) during a preset first period, said electricity storage upper limit value being an upper limit value of the amount of power stored in the electricity storage unit (3, 100).
