Abstract:
A controller (100), upon power outage of a power grid, obtains the time when the power outage is to end, evaluates whether the amount of power remaining in a storage battery (300B) is less than a first threshold value, calculates, when the amount of power remaining in the storage battery is less than the first threshold value, a first upper-limit value for power to be consumed by a plurality of electrical appliances (200A-200F) during the period wherein the amount of power remaining in the storage battery is less than the first threshold value, so that the amount of power remaining in the storage battery will still be remaining until the time when the power outage is to end. The controller (100) also limits, during the period wherein the amount of power remaining in the storage battery is less than the first threshold value, the operation of at least a portion of the plurality of electrical appliances, so that power consumption by the plurality of electrical appliances will not exceed the first upper-limit value.
