A power conversion apparatus is disclosed. The power conversion apparatus, according to one embodiment disclosed in the present document, may comprise: an input terminal for receiving, as input, a rectified AC power; an active power factor correction circuit for correcting for the boosting and power factor of the input power input via the input terminal, wherein the active power factor correction circuit comprises a switching device which is turned on or turned off according to a control signal, and boosts an input voltage, among the input power, so as to correspond to the turn on time; an output terminal connected to an output of the active power factor correction circuit; a comparator for comparing an output voltage of the output terminal with a reference voltage, and outputting different-sized signals according to the comparison results; a control circuit for regulating a duty cycle of the control signal according to the signals output from the comparator; and a discharge circuit electrically connected between the input terminal and an output of the comparator, and discharging the output of the comparator when detecting that the input voltage is equivalent to or greater than a first predetermined voltage.
