Abstract:
A power conversion apparatus of one embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a conversion circuit comprising switching elements (Q1-Q6) that can have currents flow therethrough in both directions, and diodes (D1-D6) each of which is connected in parallel to each of the switching elements (Q1-Q6); and a control unit for controlling the ON/OFF of the switching elements (Q1-Q6), and converting DC power to AC power. The control unit turns on the switching elements (Q1-Q6) and lets currents flow through in the forward direction of the diodes (D1-D6) and in the reverse direction of the switching elements (Q1-Q6), when the current flowing through the conversion circuit is less than a threshold current value, and turns off the switching elements (Q1-Q6) and lets currents flow through in the forward direction of the diodes (D1-D6), when the current flowing through the conversion circuit is more than the threshold current value.
