Abstract:
An arm modulation command value calculation unit (700) generates arm voltage command values (Vref) for respective arms on the basis of a first voltage command value (Vac*), a second voltage command value (Vz*), and a third voltage command value (Vpn*), and generates arm modulation command values (Kref) for the respective arms on the basis of results of comparison between the arm voltage command values (Vref) for the respective arms and carrier waves which are for the respective arms and which correspond to respective converter cells (10). A capacitor voltage balance control unit (800) determines whether to insert or to bypass the respective converter cells (10), on the basis of the respective arm modulation command values (Kref) and arm electric currents (Iarm) for the respective arms. A gate signal generation unit (900) generates a drive signal with respect to a semiconductor switching element (12) of each of the converter cells (10) on the basis of a command for inserting/bypassing the converter cell (10).
