Abstract:
A power conversion device (1) comprises: a filter capacitor (FC1); a contactor (11) that electrically connects the filter capacitor (FC1) to a power source, or electrically separates the filter capacitor (FC1) from the power source; and a failure assessment unit (17) that assesses whether a failure is present in the contactor (11). The failure assessment unit (17) assesses that the contactor (11) has failed when the contactor (11) is in an inserted state during an assessment period after the contactor (11) is inserted, and when the diminution of the voltage of the filter capacitor (FC1) is at or above a reference value during the assessment period.
