Abstract:
A power conversion device (1) is provided with: a self-excited converter (2) connected to a bus (18) of an AC circuit (12); and, a control device (3) for controlling the operation of the self-excited converter (2). The AC circuit (12) includes a first AC system (51) and a second AC system (52) connected to the bus (18). The control device (3) determines whether or not the first AC system (51) has been disconnected from the bus (18) on the basis of a protection signal for disconnecting the first AC system (51) from the bus (18), the protection signal being transmitted from a protection relay device (61) for protecting the first AC system (51), and generates an AC voltage command value for the self-excited converter (2) according to either an AC current control method or an AC voltage control method. When the first AC system (51) is disconnected from the bus (18), the control device (3) switches the control method for the self-excited converter (2) from the AC current control method to the AC voltage control method, and generates the AC voltage command value according to the AC voltage control method.
