Abstract:

A power conversion device according to the present invention is provided with conversion devices for supplying AC power to each phase with respect to a neutral point of a three-phase AC system via a reactor, and a control unit for controlling the conversion devices. The conversion devices each include a boosting circuit for boosting a DC input voltage of DC power, and a single-phase inverter circuit. The control unit causes the conversion devices to operate such that, when the absolute value of a target voltage as an AC waveform to be output, which is formed by superimposing a third harmonic on a fundamental wave, rises above an input DC voltage, the boosting circuit performs a boosting operation to generate a voltage having the absolute value of the target voltage while the single-phase inverter circuit performs only a required polarity inversion, and when the absolute value of the target voltage falls below the input DC voltage, the boosting circuit stops the boosting operation thereof while the single-phase inverter circuit operates to generate the target voltage.
