Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a power conversion device and vehicle control device which make it possible to reduce the impact caused by heat produced inside a device. [Solution] This power conversion device is equipped with: a converter unit for converting AC power to DC power, and having a plurality of semiconductor switching elements; and an inverter unit which converts the DC power outputted by the converter unit having the plurality of semiconductor switching elements into AC power, and is positioned so as to be aligned in the direction of travel of a railroad vehicle relative to the converter unit. Furthermore, a first heat-radiating fin is attached to a first heat-receiving plate surface opposite the plurality of semiconductor switching elements, a second heat-radiating fin is attached to a second heat-receiving plate surface opposite the plurality of semiconductor switching elements, and the facing first and second heat-radiating fins are attached to the first and second heat-receiving plates in a manner such that the concavities therein are positioned in a straight line.
