Abstract:
Disclosed is a power conversion device that is capable of being miniaturized, occupies a small surface space, and operates in polyphase mode. A power conversion device that operates in n-phase mode (where n is a natural number greater than or equal to three) is configured of a core that is formed from a magnetic material and a wire coil that is wound at a prescribed position of the core. The core forms a central leg wherein an air gap is formed, a number n of external legs whereupon the wire coil is wound and that are positioned parallel to the central leg, and a closed magnetic circuit wherein the n external legs are positioned so as to surround the central leg approximately equidistant from one another with the central leg as axis thereof.
