Abstract:
A power conversion device compares the gate voltage of a semiconductor switching element with a reference value in a period during which the gate voltage oscillates, detects that a state in which the gate voltage exceeds the reference value and another state in which the gate voltage becomes less than the reference value are alternately repeated, and determines whether a short circuit occurs or not. This enables a short circuit of the semiconductor switching element to be accurately detected.
