Abstract:

A power conversion device 1 is provided with a rectifier 2, booster circuit unit 3, first capacitor 4, inverter circuit unit 5, and control unit 6. The booster circuit unit 3 has: a reactor 31 connected in series to the anode side of the rectifier 2; a first diode 32 connected to the reactor 31 in series in the forward direction; a second diode 33, which is connected to the first diode 32 in series in the forward direction, and is connected to the anode side of the inverter circuit 5; a first switching element 34 that is branched and connected between the reactor 31 and the first diode 32; a second switching element 35, which is connected in series to the first switching element 34, and is branched and connected between the cathode side of the rectifier 2 and the cathode side of the inverter circuit unit 5; and a second capacitor 36 that is branched and connected between the first switching element 34 and the second switching element 35 from between the first diode 32 and the second diode 33. The control unit 6 drives the second switching element 35 in the cases where the inverter circuit unit 5 is operating and the booster circuit unit 3 is not performing boosting.
