Abstract:
A converter circuit (20) converts an AC power supply power to a DC power. An inverter circuit (40) converts the DC power to an AC power. A capacitor (31) is connected between the converter circuit (20) and the inverter circuit (40) in parallel with each of the circuits (20, 40) to allow the variation of the output voltage of the converter circuit (20) and absorb the variation of the output voltage of the inverter circuit (40), which is caused by the switching operation. An overvoltage protection circuit (50) has a resistor (51) and a semiconductor element (52) which are connected in series with each other and is connected in parallel with the capacitor (31) to protect the inverter circuit (40) from an overvoltage. First and second control units (60, 70) control the inverter circuit (40) and the overvoltage protection circuit (50).
