Abstract:

Each of a plurality of unit converters comprises: a main circuit (30); a control circuit (32) configured so as to control a plurality of switching elements (11-14) according to a control signal received from a control device; a power source (50) that steps down the voltage of a first capacitor (15) to generate a power source voltage, and supplies the power source voltage to the control circuit (32); and a current-limiting resistance circuit (80) positioned between the main circuit (30) and the power source (50), for which the resistance value is variable. The power source (50) comprises a second capacitor (51), an overcharge-suppressing circuit (54), a power source circuit (56), and a control unit (500). The control unit (500) includes: an overcharge-suppressing control circuit (53) that controls the overcharge-suppressing circuit (54) in accordance with the level of the voltage of the second capacitor (51); and a resistance-switching circuit (88) that switches the resistance value of the current-limiting resistance circuit (80) in accordance with the level of the voltage of the first capacitor (15).
