Abstract:
A control unit (50) for a power converter (20) performs on/off control on semiconductor elements (SW) to have a 3-level operation mode and a 2-level operation mode, said 3-level operation mode outputting an AC voltage consisting of the 3-level voltage of a DC circuit unit (10), said 2-level operation mode outputting an AC voltage consisting of the 2-level voltage of the DC circuit unit (10). The control unit (50) performs a first switching control for switching between the 2-level operation mode and the 3-level operation mode at a timing when, among the semiconductor elements, a set semiconductor element in accordance with the polarity of a voltage command (Vref) for controlling the power converter (20) maintains an on-state.
