Abstract:
A power conversion system (10) is provided with: a self-excited converter (11A) connected between an AC power grid (9A), and a first DC main line (13A) and a DC return line (13B); a separately excited converter (12A) connected between the AC power grid, and the DC return line (13B) and a second DC main line (13C); and a control device (31A). When starting the self-excited converter (11A) and the separately excited converter (12A), the control device (31A) starts the self-excited converter (11A) and starts the separately excited converter (12A) after the starting of the self-excited converter (11A) has been completed. A function of the self-excited converter (11A), said function being not provided in the separately excited converter (12A), can be used by starting the self-excited converter (11A) before the separately excited converter (12A).
