Abstract:
A power converter 1 for supplying an AC voltage converted from a DC voltage to a load, wherein the power converter 1 is provided with an inverter 12 for receiving a PWM signal and applying an AC voltage to the load, and an inverter control unit 13 for generating the PWM signal and feeding the PWM signal to the inverter 12. The frequency of the PWM signal is an integer multiple of the frequency of the AC voltage. The AC voltage has, in each period of the AC voltage, a plurality of positive pulses and a plurality of negative pulses. The number of the positive pulses and the number of the negative pulses are identical. It becomes possible to minimize any distortion in the current flowing through a motor.
