Abstract:

Provided is a power converter (101) which converts direct current power supplied from a first direct current power supply (Vp) and a second direct current power supply (Vn) to alternating current power and supplies the alternating current power to a load. The power converter is provided with a protection circuit (51) which makes a charging current flowing from the first direct current power supply (Vp) and the second direct current power supply (Vn) to a first snubber capacitor (Crp) or a second snubber capacitor (Crn) flow to other current path, in the case where a voltage applied to the first snubber capacitor (Crp) is at a predetermined value or more or when a voltage applied to the second snubber capacitor (Crn) is at a predetermined value or more.
