Abstract:
Disclosed is a power converter which is provided with: a cooling base (5) comprising a flow passage (51) that has a cooling medium flowing therethrough, and comprising an opening (50) that communicates with the flow passage (51); a power module (1); and a flow passage control part (16b). The power module (1) comprises: a cylindrical part (13a) having a bottom; a flange part (13b); and a heat dissipating fin group (144). The cylindrical part (13a) stores a power semiconductor element and is inserted into the flow passage (51) from the opening (50). The flange part (13b) is formed in an opening of the cylindrical part (13a) and is fixed to the cooling base (5) so as to close the opening (50). The heat dissipating fin group (144) is provided along the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part (13a), and a gap having a predetermined spacing (D) is formed between the heat dissipating fin group (144) and the flange part (13b). The flow passage control part (16b) is disposed in the gap between the flange part (13b) and the heat dissipating fin group (144), and prevents the cooling medium from flowing into the gap (51c) to thereby guide the cooling medium to the heat dissipating fin group (144).
