Abstract:
A power device equipped with: a current-carrying conductor 3; a power generation unit for generating electric power as induced by a magnetic flux generated by a current flowing in the current-carrying conductor 3; a power device unit 5 which utilizes the electric power generated by the power generation unit as a drive source; a short-circuiting switch 6 capable of short-circuiting output of the power generation unit; and an airtight container 2 which is filled with an insulating fluid with the current-carrying conductor 3, the power generation unit, and the power device unit 5 being encased therein. This power device is used in an alternating-current power system, and is highly reliable such that when the power device unit 5 is stopped in a state in which the current-carrying state of the power generation unit is maintained, an excessive voltage is prevented from being induced in the power generation unit.
