Abstract:

Provided are: a power element that can obtain intended temperature/flow rate characteristics despite a low cost; and an expansion valve using the power element. A power element (8) has: a diaphragm (83); an upper lid member (82) that is joined to one side of an outer circumferential part (83a) of the diaphragm (83) and that forms a pressure operation chamber (PO) between the upper lid member and the diaphragm (83); an annular supporting point adjustment member (85) that is joined to the other side of the outer circumferential part (83a) of the diaphragm (83); a reception member that is joined to the supporting point adjustment member (85) and that forms a refrigerant inflow chamber (LS) between the reception member and the diaphragm (83); and a stopper member (84) that is housed in the refrigerant inflow chamber (LS). The diaphragm (83) can abut against a supporting point of the supporting point adjustment member (85).
