Abstract:
This power factor improving device, to which a three-phase alternating current is inputted, reliably improves the power factor and stably converts power with a simple configuration and control. This power factor improving device comprises: a first, second, and third input terminal R, S, T into which a three-phase alternating current is inputted; a positive electrode output terminal p and a negative electrode output terminal n which are connected to a load; three reactors Lr, Ls, Lt which are connected at one terminal to the first, second and third input terminal, respectively; one or multiple switching elements which have a terminal D to which the voltage of the other terminal of each of the three reactors is applied, another terminal S which is connected to the negative electrode output terminal n, and a control terminal G which is provided for switch control; a first, second and third rectifier device D1, D2, D3 which have one terminal to which the voltage of the other terminal of the three reactors is applied, respectively, and which enable conduction of current to the positive electrode output terminal p; and a smoothing capacitor C which is connected between the positive electrode output terminal p and the negative electrode output terminal n, wherein the control terminals of the one or multiple switching elements are controlled by one control signal having a constant duty ratio.
