Title:
POWER GENERATING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1999/004151
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The present invention relates to devices in Stirling engines used for driving power generators, wherein said invention may be used in power generating systems that operate autonomously or in parallel with external power supplies. The power generating apparatus includes a power generator connected to a Stirling engine, wherein said engine comprises cylinders with pistons which are mounted in a housing and connected together by heat-exchange ducts. The piston rods are connected by a drive mechanism to a power generator. This apparatus is characterised in that it further includes the following members serially connected: a first high-frequency heater mounted in a duct; a high-frequency unit; a voltage converter; a transformer; a second generator; an electrical motor and an accumulator with a discharge device; and a second heater mounted in a duct. Sealing inserts for the piston rods are further mounted in the lower cover of the cylinder block.
