Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a power generation device that improves power generation efficiency and can use a moving medium circulating therein, and to provide a power generation method. [Solution] Provided is a power generation device comprising: a moving medium storage tank that is installed in a borehole drilled in a geothermal field and is disposed in an underground high-temperature part of the geothermal field; a moving medium supply part for supplying a moving medium to the moving medium storage tank; and a power generation part for generating power using the moving medium, said power generation device being characterized in that the moving medium storage tank comprises a first pipe that connects to the moving medium supply part, and a second pipe for guiding the moving medium that has been vaporized or liquefied until the moving medium reaches the bottom part of the moving medium storage tank.
