Abstract:
Provided is a power generation system in which a power generation mechanism is installed in a location separate from a location where flowing-fluid energy such as wind power or wave power is received when the flowing-fluid energy such as wind power or wave power is to be converted to electric power, the power generation mechanism not receiving abnormal wind power or abnormal waves such as in a typhoon. A power generation system in which a reciprocating motion mechanism (20) is connected to a fluid-accommodating mechanism (10) for accommodating a flowing fluid, motion of the fluid accommodating mechanism is converted to reciprocating motion, the reciprocating motion is transmitted to a power generation mechanism (30) disposed in a region different from the region in which the fluid accommodating mechanism is disposed, and the reciprocating motion is converted to electric power, wherein the reciprocating motion mechanism is provided with a cylindrical outer cable (22) disposed between the fluid accommodating mechanism and the power generation mechanism, and an inner cable (21) inserted in the outer cable (22) and connected to each of the fluid accommodating mechanism and the power generation mechanism, the inner cable (21) moving in reciprocating fashion inside the outer cable in conjunction with the motion of the fluid accommodating mechanism and transmitting the reciprocating motion to the power generation mechanism.
