Abstract:
This rotary electric machine comprises a rotor (21) and a stator (31). The rotor (21) includes permanent magnets (23). The permanent magnets (23) provide a plurality of field magnetic poles (26) and at least one reference magnetic pole (27). The plurality of field magnetic poles (26) are arranged such that the polarities alternate. The reference magnetic pole (27) is located in at least one of the field magnetic poles (26). The stator (31) includes a single sensor (38). A sensor signal (SG) is obtained by observing the polarities of the magnetic poles with the single sensor (38) along a track (29). The sensor signal (SG) is used as a signal for making the rotary electric machine function as an electric motor. The sensor signal (SG) is also used as a reference position signal for controlling the ignition of an internal combustion engine.
