A power management system for mining (100) includes: a first overhead line (1) which is disposed on an ascending slope (RU), and exchanges power with an ascending vehicle (6U) that travels on the ascending slope (RU); a second overhead line (2) which is disposed on a descending slope (RD), and exchanges power with a descending vehicle (6D) that travels on the descending slope (RD); and a power supply and storage device (3) that exchanges power between at least the first overhead line (1) and the second overhead line (2). A management device (10) for the power management system for mining (100) controls the distribution of power between at least machines (7), the ascending vehicle (6U) and the descending vehicle (6D), in such a manner that the total power consumed by the machines (7), the ascending vehicle (6U) and the descending vehicle (6D) is less than or equal to the total power generated by the machines (7), the ascending vehicle (6U) and the descending vehicle (6D).
