Abstract:
Provided are a power receiver and power transmission system with which power reception efficiency can be adjusted. This power receiver includes: a secondary-side resonant coil that has a resonant coil part and receives power by means of magnetic field resonance generated between the secondary-side resonant coil and the primary-side resonant coil; a capacitor that is inserted in series into the secondary-side resonant coil; a series circuit that comprises a first and second switch and is connected in parallel to the capacitor; a first rectifying element that is connected in parallel to the first switch; a second rectifying element that is connected in parallel to the second switch and has a rectifying direction that is opposite to the first rectifying element; a means for detecting a voltage waveform or current waveform of the same frequency as a power transmission frequency; and a control unit that adjusts the amount of power received by the secondary-side resonant coil by adjusting, to a prescribed phase difference, the phase difference between the voltage waveform or current waveform detected by a detection unit, and a first signal for on/off switching of the first switch and second signal for on/off switching of the second switch, and adjusting the length of the period during which the first switch and second switch are both on.
