This power receiving device is provided with: a power receiving unit (20) which contactlessly receives electric power from a power transmitting unit (56) provided to a vehicle exterior; and a power-receiving-unit support mechanism (30) which supports the power receiving unit (20) so as to enable the power receiving unit (20) to be moved closer towards the power transmitting unit (56), and so as to enable the power receiving unit (20) to be moved away from the power transmitting unit (56). The power-receiving-unit support mechanism (30) includes: a pressing member which applies a pressing force against the power receiving unit (20) such that the distance between the power receiving unit (20) and the power transmitting unit (56) is increased; and a power-receiving-unit drive unit for generating motive power which opposes the pressing force, and which causes the power receiving unit (20) to move such that the distance between the power receiving unit (20) and the power transmitting unit (56) is decreased.
