Abstract:
When operating a power switch of a multi outlet using a personal computer or a timer, unlike the traditional technology which is not possible to use an electric product except the set time, the present invention is able to supply power to an electric product plugged in a multi outlet by the time a user needs to operate besides the time set by a personal computer or a timer by installing an emergency switch.

[1] In case of a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply that is composed to be able to control AC power supplied to an electric product through an outlet connected to AC control part by operating AC control part during the time set by a timer controlled by a microprocessor or by a personal computer, An emergency switch to supply an emergent power to an electric product during the time a power is not supplied to an electric product by being controlled by the above mentioned microprocessor,

And a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply that is composed of a microprocessor which is composed to be able to operate the above mentioned AC control part in order to supply AC power to an electric product by operating the above mentioned emergency power switch.

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply.

[3] The present invention relates to a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply. Especially, the present invention relates to a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply which supplies power to electric products plugged in a multi outlet in case of user s need besides the time set by personal computer or timer by having emergency power switch.

[4] Generally, a multi outlet that can connect several electric products or office machines at the same time is used in home or office. This traditional multi outlet gives a convenience that several electric products can be plugged in one outlet, but also loss of waiting power is occurred because several electric products are always plugged when they are not in use.

[5] Power can be reduced by about 10% of total electricity usage by unplugging electric products from outlet when they are not in use, but it is rarely happened unplugging electric products when they are not in use and connecting again when using them.

[6] Therefore, to reduce inconvenience that plugging and unplugging power cord or electric products individually to multi outlet, a power switch which can control supplying power to traditional multi outlet is installed on the upper side of the traditional multi outlet, and the loss of waiting power of electric product is prevented by making possible to cutoff the power supplied to electric product through multi outlet by operating this power switch, but an user also has to operate the power switch of multi outlet occasionally.

[7] That is, even though a power switch, to prevent the loss of waiting power of the traditional multi outlet, is made, because a multi outlet which is connected with power cord of electric product is arranged at the back of the electric product, on a wall, or a space where cannot be seen from the outside to consider the beauty, it is normal for user to operate only power switch of electric product due to the problem that operating on/off of the power switches of each electric products as well as the power switch of multi outlet whenever using electric product.

[8] In other words, the traditional multi outlet cannot prevent the loss of waiting power consumed by electric product because the waiting power is consumed at the electric product if a user turns off the power switch of the electric product while the user does not turn off the power switch of multi outlet.

[9] Furthermore, even though a user turns off the power switch of electric product while the power cord of the electric product is plugged in the multi outlet, because the power remains in the multi outlet, it is possible to happen that the damage of an expensive electric product although it is not in use when a lightning or other electric problem occurs.

[10] Therefore, the traditional multi outlet is designed to communicate with personal computer or etc and controls the power supplied to electric product by operating power switch of the multi outlet by personal computer, to control power supplied to electric product by operating the power switch of the multi outlet by using a separate remote controller, or to set the time to supply power to electric product freely by installing a timer in series to the power switch of the multi outlet.

[11] However, in case of reducing the loss of waiting power by operating power switch of multi outlet as mentioned above, a user does not only have to buy a personal computer or separate remote controller, but also the user cannot use electric product besides the optionally set time.

[13] To solve the problem mentioned above, the present invention has an emergency power switch to supply power to the electric product plugged in a multi outlet by the time a user needs it as well as by the time set by a personal computer or a timer.

[15] Therefore, according to the present invention, unlike the present technology that cannot use an electric product besides the set time in case of operating the power switch of a multi outlet by using a separate personal computer or a timer, the present invention has an emergency power switch and therefore is able to supply power to the electric product plugged in the multi outlet by the time a user needs it as well as by the time set by a personal computer or a timer.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[30] In order to accomplish above mentioned purpose, a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply according to the present invention is composed to be able to operate AC power supplied to an electric product through a outlet connected to an AC control part by operating AC control part during the time set by a timer controlled by a microprocessor or the time set by personal computer, to have an emergency power switch to supply an emergent power to the electric product controlled by above mentioned microprocessor during the time the power is not supplied to the electric product, and the above mentioned microprocessor is composed to operate the above mentioned AC control part optionally in order to supply AC power to the electric product by operating the above mentioned emergency power switch, and therefore a user is able to control performing the above mentioned functions optionally.

[31] Also, in case of the present invention, a light emitting diode is installed to show that AC power is supplied to the above mentioned electric product, and it is desirable for the above mentioned microprocessor to be composed to flicker the above mentioned light emitting diode during the time an emergency power is supplied to an electric product.

[32] Also, in case of the present invention, it is desirable for the above mentioned microprocessor to be composed to be able to inform that the time to cut the power is coming by operating a buzzer or a light emitting diode before the time set by the above mentioned timer or the above mentioned personal computer comes to an end.

[33] Also, in case of the present invention, it is desirable for the above mentioned microprocessor to be composed to be able to control the operating time of the electric product plugged in the outlet by the solar or lunar calendar saved in database.

[34] Also, in case of the present invention, it is desirable for the above mentioned mi-

croprocessor to be composed to be able to cut the power supplied to an electric product by operating AC control part after passing some time after the time set by the above mentioned timer or the above mentioned personal computer is ended.

[35] Also, in case of the present invention, it is desirable for the time set by the above mentioned personal computer or the above mentioned timer to supply power to an electric product to be saved in a portable memory which is easy to combine or separate with the above mentioned microprocessor.

[36] The present invention is explained in detail hereinafter.

[37] In case of a power saving plug capable of emergent power supply according to the present invention, as shown in Fig.l, AC power supplied through a plug (11) is supplied to each electric product plugged in the several outlets (23)(24)(25). At this time, AC power supplied to each electric product can be controlled by AC control part (26)(27)(28) controlled by a microprocessor (14) and therefore it is possible to minimize consuming unnecessary waiting power.

[38] The above mentioned microprocessor (14) operates AC control part (26)(27)(28) optionally by the time set by the operating input method (29) such as a key pad and a timer (18) or by the time saved in a memory (19) by a personal computer (22) through the medium of a communication port (21), and therefore controls AC power supplied to electric products plugged in several outlets (23)(24)(25).

[39] Here, an overvoltage circuit breaker (12) and a varistor (16) connected to the back of the plug (11) are elements to protect various electric products plugged in outlets (23)(24)(25), and a power generating part (15) is to supply the operating power to the microprocessor (14) or etc.

[40] An emergency power switch (20) connected to the above mentioned microprocessor (14) is a switch to set a mode to supply an emergent power to an electric product during the time power is not supplied to the electric product which is not set by a personal computer (22) or a timer (18), and AC power supplied to the operated outlets (23) (24) (25) while AC power is supplied to outlets (23) (24) (25) is cut once it is operated.

[41] For this, a microprocessor (14) is not bound by the time set by a personal computer

(22) or a timer (18) by operating an emergency power switch (20), but operates AC control part (26)(27)(28) optionally to supply AC power to electric products plugged in outlets (23)(24)(25).

[42] Also, a microprocessor (14) flickers a light emitting diode (17) during the time an emergent power is supplied to an electric product according to the above mentioned way in order to inform that AC power is supplied to electric product plugged in a specific outlet (23)(24)(25).

[43] Also, the present invention connects a light emitting diode (17) as well as a buzzer

(13) to a microprocessor (14), and therefore is able to prevent the loss that a power is cut while a user does an important work by informing the time to cut the power supplied to an electric product is come by operating a buzzer (13) or a light emitting diode (17) before the time set in a memory (19) by a timer (18) or a personal computer (22) controlled by a microprocessor (14).

[44] Also, the present invention is able to set the time to light of a home, an office, or an establishment, or a signboard or exterior illumination, the time of lightning or flickering of lamp or etc can be varied by the solar or lunar calendar saved in database since the time of sunset and sunrise varies from season to season.

[45] Especially in case of an electric product that lights only at night or daytime, a microprocessor (14) can light a lamp or etc at needed time as well as reduce the loss of unnecessary power by making different time of lightning and flickering of a lamp or etc according to the lunar calendar, which indicates the length of the night and day more accurate than the solar calendar.

[46] In case of plugging in an electric product such as a PDP, LCD TV or a beam projector, a cooling method such as a ventilator is operated to cool down the heated electric product after turned off. For this, the microprocessor of the present invention is able to prevent the electric product such as PDP, LCD TV or a beam projector from being damaged by heat by supplying additional power for PDP, LCD TV or a beam projector or etc to be cooled down for selected time such as 2, 3, 5 or 10 minutes before isolating.

[47] Thus, the time to supply power to an electric product set by a personal computer

In the present invention, a portable memory, which is easy to combine and separate with a microprocessor (14) is used and therefore it is convenience to set a operating time of an electric product being not bound by time or place.
