Abstract:
A power source device for an electric discharge processing machine is provided with: a DC power source (1) for supplying DC or AC current pulses in a processing gap between a processing electrode (2) and an object (3) to be processed; a series circuit including switching elements (4a, 4b) and a diode (7a); diodes (7b, 7c) that restrict the direction of the current flowing to one direction; and a control section (10) for controlling the switching elements (4a, 4b). The control section (10) controls the switching elements (4a, 4b) so that, when a current pulse that forms a triangular wave shape is generated by the inductance (6) present on the series circuit, a current pulse time ratio, which is the ratio between the no-current time and current continuation time of the current pulse, is 1/5 or less.
