The purpose of the present invention is to suppress, in a power source device, the standby power to a low level while reducing the start-up time, without using a power source switch having a large control capacity and without adding cost to an added circuit, said power source device converting the power from a power source circuit to AC and supplying the converted AC to a secondary side through a transformer. The power source device (100) comprises: a power source circuit connected to an AC power source and converting AC to DC; and a power source supply control circuit that performs control for converting the power from the power source circuit to AC and supplying the converted AC to a secondary side through a transformer (T1). On the secondary side, the power source device (100) is equipped with: a capacitor (C3) charged by said AC power source; a switching element that brings said power source supply control circuit into an on-state by the power of the capacitor (C3) and is provided in an electrically insulated state between a primary side and the secondary side to transmit a signal on said secondary side to said primary side; and a power source start-up switch (SW1) connected between said switching element and the capacitor (C3) and brings said switching element into an on-state by the on-operation thereof.
