Abstract:
A power supply device using a solar cell module that includes a plurality of single cells mutually connected in series, wherein a module voltage Vsm increases by irradiation of light on the solar cell module, an on/off switch turns on when a first voltage V1 is reached, and power is supplied to a load. From this state, the module voltage Vsm decreases due to reduction in irradiation in the solar cell module, and when a second voltage V2 (V2 < V1) is reached, the on/off switch turns off, whereby the supply of power to the load is cut off, single cell degradation is suppressed, and the performance retention time for the solar cell module can be extended. The second voltage V2 at that time is set in advance to a suitable value on the basis of the electric current-voltage characteristics of the solar cell module.
