Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a power storage element with which it is possible to reduce the current in a short-circuit section when used in an abnormal condition, such as when pierced by a nail or other foreign object, and a method for manufacturing such a power storage element. [Solution] One embodiment of the present invention is a power storage element having an electrode body in which a positive electrode, a heat-resistant layer, a separator, and a negative electrode are laminated in the stated order, the peel strength between the positive electrode and the heat-resistant layer being greater than the peel strength between the heat-resistant layer and the separator, and the peel strength between the heat-resistant layer and the separator being greater than the peel strength between the separator and the negative electrode. Another embodiment of the present invention is a method for manufacturing the power storage element, the method including: obtaining a laminate body in which a positive electrode, a heat-resistant layer, a separator, and a negative electrode are laminated in the stated order; and thermally crimping the laminate body in the lamination direction to thereby affix the positive electrode and the heat-resistant layer more securely than the heat-resistant layer and the separator, and more securely than the separator and the negative electrode.
