Abstract:
A power supply apparatus comprises a first switch unit for cutting off or connecting alternating current power supply by an on/off operation, wherein a first control signal for controlling the on/off operation of the first switch unit is generated using a signal from a power key in the main body of an electronic device or a power signal input through a remote controller. According to the power supply apparatus and a power supply method thereof, it is possible to convert alternating current power to direct current power without using a transformer, and to provide an electronic device with a standby power control function while achieving circuit simplification.
