Abstract:
The present invention is a power supply apparatus that supplies power from a power-supply-side device to a power-receiving-side device having a mechanical unit that is supplied with a driving voltage and operates intermittently and a power-receiving-side control unit that is supplied with a control voltage lower than the driving voltage to control the operation of the mechanical unit. The power supply apparatus is provided with a regulator unit that is provided in the power-receiving-side device and converts a receiving voltage received as a result of supplying power into the control voltage; a voltage-regulated power supply unit that is provided in the power-supply-side device and supplies power such that the receiving voltage is regulatable; and a power-supply-side control unit that is provided in the power-supply-side device and controls the voltage-regulated power supply unit to control the receiving voltage. Furthermore, the power-supply-side control unit makes the receiving voltage substantially identical to the driving voltage to allow the mechanical unit to operate during machine-operating hours in which the mechanical unit can operate and decreases the receiving voltage to below the driving voltage during operation-controlled hours outside the machine-operating hours. This can effectively reduce power loss and a temperature rise while maintaining reliable operation of the power-receiving-side device.
